A data-quality audit
Put the checks together into one audit: a single query that lists each check and how many rows fail it. Run it every morning, and anything above zero gets looked at.
SELECT 'Customers with no region' AS check_name, COUNT(*) AS failures
FROM customers WHERE region IS NULL
UNION ALL
SELECT 'Order lines with no quantity', COUNT(*)
FROM order_items WHERE quantity <= 0
UNION ALL
SELECT 'Payments with no invoice', COUNT(*)
FROM payments p
WHERE NOT EXISTS (SELECT 1 FROM invoices i WHERE i.id = p.invoice_id)Each part is one check with the same two columns, stacked with UNION ALL. Turn it into a view
(CREATE VIEW data_quality AS …) and the whole team can run it.
In practice this is what tools like dbt tests and Great Expectations automate. The SQL underneath is exactly this.
